Coalition for Healthy Kids

Coalition for Healthy Kids

The Coalition for Healthy Kids is a collaborative of community partners who are committed to the fight against childhood obesity and making a difference in the lives of local children and their familes.

5210 Plan for Healthy Living
“ To improve the overall health of children and their families living in Greater Danbury by creating an environment where they can be more active and make healthier food choices.”

 Coalition for Healthy Kids History

More than five years ago, a group of concerned community individuals and organizations met to discuss the childhood obesity issue.

Today, the Coalition for Healthy Kids (CHK) is a strong collaborative of community partners who are committed to making a difference in the lives of children and their families.

Our (5210) plan for healthy living will educate the public about health risks and healthier lifestyle behaviors and choices, seeking to make the “healthy choice, the easy choice” for everyone.

Coalition for Healthy Kids believes

1) Health happens where we live, work and play.
2) Parents, Caregivers and Teachers are role models.
3) CHK is committed to making a difference.
4) Building a healthy family means making choices in food and exercise that will be fun, enjoyable and prevent poor health and obesity.
