The Stamford Early Childhood Blueprint -- A Draft
Over the past year, United Way of Western Connecticut has been involved in a community-wide effort to develop a strategic plan around early childhood. The Blueprint is now nearing completion and we invite your feedback!

The 2008 Community Needs Assessment
The Community Results Center (CRC) of the United Way of Connecticut conducted a needs assessment for United Way of Western Connecticut -- Stamford and the Stamford Human Services Planning Council to help determine the best use of its resources to impact the lives of the residents of Stamford. In order to ensure that the perceptions and opinions of many segments of the community were included in the research, data was gathered from residents, community leaders, publicly available data sources, and from the 2-1-1 information and referral service. We will use the results of this report, not only to help us determine the best way to distribute funding throughout the community, but also as a resource to build partnerships within the social services community.
Funding
Through our Community Impact Fund, we distributed $1,460,000 in funding for 57 programs at 30 local agencies. We also provide $25,205 in funding for 2-1-1 and $15,000 for the Fairfield County Collaborative Fund for Affordable Housing for a total of $1,500,205.
