The Human Services Planning Council in Stamford

Mission statement: To bring together representatives from Stamford’s diverse community, in order to periodically assess and identify unmet and under-served human service needs and to work in a collaborative manner and creative fashion to help ensure that services are in place to address those needs.

In order to accomplish its mission, the Human Services Planning Council of Stamford will pursue the following:

• Through a collaborative process, identify priority human service areas for the city of Stamford. The Council shall regularly collect data, prepare analysis and disseminate information regarding human services in the city. As part of such review, the Council will identify specific human service areas on which to focus its efforts, and to encourage the focus of service providers and funders.
• The Council will convene regularly to share and discuss pertinent information related to human services delivery, with particular attention to identified priority service areas.
• The Council will conduct such activities as necessary to engender the coordination of services and collaboration among providers.
• The Council will advocate for local, state and federal programs and funding that will benefit the provision of human services in Stamford.
