Letter to Editor: Kent Youths Benefit from Charitable Help

NEW MILFORD SPECTRUM -- Sep 9 2009 -- On behalf of the town of Kent, I would like to thank Kathy Thomas and the United Way of Western Connecticut for coordinating the Back to School Clothes for Kids campaign again this year.

Thirty-four children and their parents eagerly collected their packages last Friday, and have expressed joy and gratitude for the beautiful outfits and school supplies inside.

I would also like to thank all the individuals who sponsored a child for caring and doing such a great job fulfilling each child's wishes.

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Irene Mosher of the Salvation Army, coordinator of the Payless Shoesource Gift Card program.

Thanks to Ms. Mosher and Payless, each of the 34 children received a Payless gift card worth $30 in shiny new shoes.

Let the school bells ring!
