It's All About Financial Stability: United Way Hosts Expo in New Milford
NEW MILFORD SPECTRUM -- Jul 7 2010 -- Help is available. That was among the messages issued June 24 to those seeking financial advice at the United Way of Western Connecticut's inaugural financial stability expo at the Connecticut Sports Arena in New Milford.
Individuals and agencies from throughout the greater New Milford and Danbury areas were on hand, welcomed by United Way volunteers and officials from the town's Economic Development Commission.
"We know it's the right idea,'' said Vin Nolan the EDC director. "We're looking to target families who are struggling like they never have before, and don't instinctively know where to turn.''
Among the vendors to participate were Webster Bank, Union Savings Bank, TBICO in Danbury, Catholic Family Charities, The Community Culinary School of New Milford, Angel Food Ministries, The Housing Development Fund, New Milford Hospital, New Milford Social Services and Public Power LLC.
