THUMBS UP to Day of Caring
NEWS-TIMES -- Jun 14 2010 -- More than 500 volunteers from more than 25 businesses and organizations rolled up their sleeves Wednesday and participated in the 16th annual Day of Caring coordinated by the United Way of Western Connecticut.
Sixty project sites benefited from the volunteers' efforts, which included work such as scrubbing, painting or spreading mulch. The annual event shows that much can be accomplished when people come together for the good of the community.
