THUMBS UP to Strong Heart Initiative
NEWS-TIMES -- Apr 12 2010 -- United Way of Western Connecticut initiated an innovative program -- called "Strong Heart: Healthy Children" -- to reverse childhood obesity in the region.
A $400,000 grant by an anonymous donor will allow for the expansion of exercise and nutrition programs for children in Western Connecticut, an endeavor endorsed by Danbury Hospital, the Danbury school district and the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut.
