PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT on Friday, December 14 in Danbury will provide supportive services and resources to homeless and near homeless individuals. Volunteers over the age of 18 are needed any time from 9-4 to help serve breakfast and lunch, act as greeters, escort clients to specific resource areas, assist with the distribution of clothing items, or other event related tasks.
SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGER program is in need of volunteers to act as supervisors at local kettle sites. You will check on the site and provide short term relief to other volunteers. They are also in need of additional volunteer bell ringers. You must be at least 18.
FIRST NIGHT DANBURY needs volunteers of all ages to help at this community New Year’s Eve event. Volunteers are needed from 4-6 or 6-8 pm and will receive a button to attend events. Community service hours are available.
HOLIDAY OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP
Gift Wrappers needed for a benefit gift wrapping station at the Mall which will operate from Friday, December 14 to Monday, December 24. If you would like to volunteer for a few hours, we would love to hear from you.
New Toys needed for a Santa workshop for children of all ages. Can you pick up a toy, game, car, doll, etc. to support this special program? Each and every item will be a help.
Adopt a Family – You can sponsor a family with holiday gifts which could include toys, clothing, food, gift cards. We can provide you with the necessary information so you can do this.
Holiday Fruit for Seniors - We are in need of donors to provide fresh fruit in a gift bag which will be distributed to low income senior citizens on December 19.
DINING ROOM TABLE AND CHAIRS are needed at a group home for adults located in Danbury. They need to accommodate 6 people at the table. Their current table is falling apart.
FOOD PANTRY needs soup, peanut butter, tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, and feminine care items.
GIFT CARDS needed for food, clothing, or gas. These cards will be given to families in need during the holiday season. You can mail them to The Volunteer Center office.
WIRED RIBBON AND PACKAGE DECORATIONS are needed for a benefit gift wrapping station.
COFFEE GRINDERS needed at a food pantry so they can grind donated coffee beans.
