The Volunteer Center of United Way of Western Connecticut works to strengthen Stamford by connecting people to volunteer service opportunities and providing resources to nonprofit organizations. Each year, we recruit volunteers to give their time and talent to the community and help nonprofit agencies fulfill their missions.

We’d like to thank volunteers from 12 Stamford companies who participated in our annual Business to Books Read-a-thon last week! Over 2,000 Kindergarteners and 1st graders from 10 of our public Stamford elementary schools were thrilled to welcome volunteer readers into their classrooms! A great boost to our continued literacy effort!
