Join Us in Welcoming Edith Presley as President of Stamford Cradle to Career
Edith Presley

It is with great excitement that we announce Edith Pressley as the next President of Stamford Cradle to Career. Beginning January 18, 2022, Ms. Pressley will join our team at United Way of Western Connecticut and Stamford Cradle to Career, bringing with her a strong educational background, a core understanding of Cradle to Career’s mission and vision, and an unwavering commitment to Stamford’s youth.

After an extensive interview process, Edith emerged as the obvious choice to lead Stamford Cradle to Career (SC2C) in this next phase of growth. Prior to joining SC2C, Edith spent more than twenty years in education, educational leadership, and community organizing. Throughout her career, her work focused on equity and inclusion and a commitment to ensuring that all students can succeed and thrive in social and academic environments.

Edith joins us most recently from DOMUS Kids in Stamford where she served as an Education Advisor, working closely with students, families, Stamford Public School staff, and community stakeholders to ensure that every child has an opportunity to succeed in school. Her educational leadership experience also includes time at Lighthouse Community Corporation and Stamford Public Educational Foundation where she helped to meet the resource needs of Stamford residents and coordinate services for students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Edith spent twelve years at Stamford Public Schools as Human Resources Administrator at Central Office, Co-Principal at Roxbury Elementary Schools, Principal at Julia Stark Elementary School, Assistant Director of Special Education Services, and Assistant Principal at Dolan Middle School. She holds a Master of Administration in Education from Mercy College.

We are thrilled that Edith is joining the United Way and Stamford Cradle to Career team. She is an accomplished professional with a reputation as a leader and organizer who inspires confidence, solves problems, and builds long-lasting relationships. Edith brings with her a life of experiences across Stamford both personally and professionally that will inform the work that SC2C does.

There will be an opportunity to meet Edith at Stamford Cradle to Career’s virtual February Convening on February 10th and 11th. Please register for this free convening at https://stamfordcradletocareer.org/convening/

We look forward to working closely with Edith as we expand United Way and Cradle to Career’s partnership and lasting impact throughout the Stamford community.
