United Way is a major partner in the Stamford Early Childhood Collaborative (SECC), an initiative bringing together schools, home day care providers, agencies, organizations and community resources to enhance the development, education, and well-being of children in Stamford—regardless of a family’s financial resources.
Young children’s natural curiosity and learning skills blossom when they are safe, healthy and have access to stimulating and nurturing learning environments and experiences, particularly in the years from birth through preschool. By bringing together various partners and agencies, SECC addresses the changing needs of Stamford’s families, and works to support and enhance the quality of life for all Stamford children and families.
