08.22.2019 - The Greater New Milford Spectrum: New VNA Program to Help First-Time Moms United Way funding to New Milford Visiting Nurse & Hospice will help launch a new Nurse-Family Partnership program to connect vulnerable first-time mothers with nurse mentors to ensure healthy outcomes through their expected child's second birthday. This will be one of only two programs in the state and the only one in Western CT.

01.22.2019 – Patch.com (Bethel): Bethel Food Pantry Reaches Out to Gov't Workers in Shutdown United Way of Western Connecticut encouraged federal employees who may be struggling to buy groceries and pay their bills to attend its monthly Mobile Food Pantry, which will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Walnut Hill Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road in Bethel. The food pantry is less than 10 miles from the Federal Correctional Institution where approximately 250 employees are working without pay.
