ALICE Winter Care Kits

United Way of Western Connecticut is focused on the hard-working, struggling families in our region that we call ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed).
ALICE is our friend and neighbor. Despite working hard, they struggle to provide basic needs for their families.

During this holiday season, we’d like to help ALICE get through the cold weather by collecting items to create Winter Care Kits. United Way will then distribute the kits to some of the many ALICE families we serve in our community. But we need your help!
To create Winter Care Kits, we are collecting the following items:

  •   $25 Grocery Store Gift Certificates
  •   Board Games/Cards
  •   Lip Balm (like Chapstick)
  •   Cookies/Crackers
  •   Hand Lotion
  •   Healthy Nonperishable Foods
  •   Nonalcoholic Cider
  •   Socks, Gloves, Hats (adults and children)
  •   Tissues
  •   Tea/Hot Chocolate
